Laois and Leitrim lead the way in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League after both teams secured wins in their second-round outings this afternoon.

Evan O’Carroll’s early goal and the late points of Paul Kingston and Mark Barry helped the O’Moore men see off Wexford’s challenge in Portlaoise and book a second win of the campaign.

In Ruislip, Andy Moran’s Leitrim were made battle to the finish to hold off London for a 3-12 to 1-15 victory on a day where marksman Keith Beirne (1-7) was outstanding for the visitors, as his two late points sealed the win.

Sligo picked up their first win of the campaign be defeating Wicklow on a 0-18 to 0-12 scoreline in Aughrim, where Pat Spillane and Niall Murphy came up big for the Yeats men down the home stretch.

The results see Laois and Leitrim leaping over Carlow in the Division 4 table after the Barrowsiders backed up their opening weekend draw with a 1-11 to 0-10 win over Waterford yesterday.
