Ruairi Campbell’s first-half goal helped Donegal ensure a winning start (1-16 to 0-15) in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League at Sligo’s expense on Saturday afternoon.

Campbell’s strike late in the first-half saw the hosts leading by 1-9 to 0-8 at the halfway stage in Letterkenny and they’d win out by the same margin in the end to get their league campaign off to a flyer.

In Dungannon, Tyrone came through a battle with London to pick up two points at the first attempt on a 1-26 to 3-18 scoreline.

Jack Goulding found the hosts’ net inside the first minute but the Red Hands soon got momentum and Lorcan Devlin’s goal on 14 minutes saw them hitting the front.

The Exiles hit the net twice more, however the frees of Mickey Little and points from Liam Dunphy, Chris Kearns and Conor Grogan helped to get Michael McShane’s men over the line.

Meath also bagged two early points in their promotion bid from the division by handing a Wicklow a 2-24 to 2-14 defeat in Navan and you can read the full match report from that one right here.
