Monaleen (Limerick) will face Tooreen (Mayo) in the All-Ireland club intermediate hurling championship final next month after both sides emerged victorious their semi-finals on Sunday afternoon.

The Limerick champions were 2-19 to 0-20 winners over Wicklow’s Bray Emmets in Tullamore, where the teams had been level 11 times and the late goals of Andrew La Touche and Dan Power proved key to their team’s victory.

Wicklow sharpshooter Christy Moorehouse landed 0-13 over the hour at O’Connor Park and it was his deadly accuracy that saw them go in at the break leading 0-11 to 0-10.

Ronan Lyons and Ed Doyle soon fired the Treaty County side in front once the second-half got underway but they wouldn’t have real margin to work with until La Touche found the Bray net.

Once Power hammered in a second, Monaleen were on the home stretch as they ended their opponents’ season and booked their place in Croke Park in the process.

Having saw their semi-final postponed yesterday, Tooreen (Mayo) and Liatroim (Down) finally clashed at Kingspan Breffni this afternoon where the former earned a 1-18 to 1-14 victory.

Tooreen’s goal in the opening minutes saw them towards a 1-9 to 0-7 half-time lead and they’d earn their final berth on the weekend of January 14/15th by adding nine more points to their tally after the turnaround.
