Rathmore are Munster club intermediate football champions after seeing off Limerick’s Na Piarsaigh by 1-17 to 0-10 in Mallow this afternoon.
The Kerry champions were dominant for long spells of the first-half as the points of Chrissy Spiers, who finished with 0-12, and Shane Ryan helped towards a 0-10 to 0-4 lead at the break.
Na Piarsaigh hit the crossbar early in the restart and instead saw two more points fly over their own via the boot of Spiers before the game’s only goal arrived.
Darragh Rahilly provided the cool finish for Rathmore that saw the scoreboard reading 1-13 to 0-7.
Spiers added three more points to his tally before the winners brought on Kerry legend Aidan O’Mahony with a few minutes to go, as they comfortably claimed provincial glory.
The victory ensured that Kerry claim a clean sweep of Munster club football titles in 2022, with Fossa having captured the junior crown earlier today and Kerins O'Rahillys claiming the senior trophy yesterday.
