One of the main talking points of a one-sided Leinster club SFC final yesterday was a collision involving referee Maurice Deegan.
Taking charge of his last big fixture in Croke Park, the former All-Ireland final ref hit the deck after getting in the way of two players (Aidan Jones from Kilmacud Crokes and Kevin O'Sullivan from The Downs) battling for possession midway through the second half.
Despite injuring his shoulder, the Stradbally man was able to see out the rest of the game which Crokes won by 1-12 to 0-8 to retain their provincial crown.
