Wexford camogie legend Ursula Jacob and her husband Brendan Cruise have welcomed their first child.

The couple were married last January and a delighted Ursula took to Twitter last night to announce the safe arrival of baby Brídín. The four-time All-Ireland winner and RTÉ pundit, who was forced to defend herself from online trolls during the summer, also revealed that she had been invited to the 'Women of the Year' event in London, but was unable to attend due to the birth.

 

I was extremely honoured & humbled to be invited to @womenofyear in London which celebrates some of the most inspiring & successful women. However, my own little superwoman Brídín decided to make her 1st appearance into the world yesterday. To all those involved at #WOTY22 👏👏👏
