Messages of congratulations have been pouring in for Davy Fitzgerald and his wife Sharon O'Loughlin following the birth of their baby boy, Dáithí Óg. 

The legendary hurling goalkeeper and manager, who recently returned to the Waterford hotseat after an 11-year absence, has described the new arrival as "one of the best things that has ever happened" to him. Davy is already dad to 25-year-old Colm from his previous marriage to Ciara Flynn.

"It's different for Colm," the  'Ireland's Fittest Family' star said in an interview with the Sunday World.

"Like 25 years on and he ends up with a brother. You know what, I don't think that's a bad thing either that there's two of them together now."
