Slaughtneil claimed their tenth consecutive Derry senior hurling championship title this afternoon when they defeated Kevin Lynch's 2-18 to 1-8 at Owenbeg.
Lynch's, who have now lost four Fr Collins Cup finals in-a-row, gave the holders plenty to think about in the first-half, taking a slender 0-5 to 0-6 lead into the break, but Slaughtneil stepped up their performance another notch after that and ultimately the challengers simply had no answer.
With Jerome McGuigan and Brendan Rogers supplying the goals, Slaughtneil scored 2-7 without reply between the 42nd and 60th minutes to overwhelm their opponents.
