Drom-Inch are into the semi-final of the Tipperary senior hurling championship after dumping champions Loughmore-Castleiney on a 0-21 to 0-18 score-line.

Tommy Nolan’s point gave Drom-Inch 0-8 to 0-7 lead after an airtight opening half at Semple Stadium, where the holders were without their talisman John McGrath as well as Ed Connolly and Ciaran Connolly.

The victors started the second-half in impressive fashion and while Noel McGrath’s frees kept Loughmore-Castleiney, it was sizzling final quarter display from Podge Campion that saw Drom-Inch through.

Noel McGrath saw a late free cleared off the goal line (see below) right before the full-time whistle sounded.

Joining Drom-Inch in the last four are Kilruane MacDonaghs after they defeated out neighbours Toomevara by 2-17 to 2-15 at the same venue.

Brian O’Meara came off the bench to net the winners’ second goal with three minutes to go before a Willie Cleary free in injury-time helped ensure their passage to the semi-finals.
