Birr will host its first Offaly SHC final in 17 years in 2023.
It comes after a proposal by Offaly GAA chairman Michael Duignan was approved by club delegates at last night's county board meeting in Tullamore. St Brendan's Park is the traditional home of Offaly hurling, but the showpiece game was moved to O'Connor Park after the county ground was redeveloped in the 2000s.
However, following recent improvement works to St Brendan's Park, the county hurling decider will return to the south Offaly venue next year.
