East Kerry cruised to a 2-20 to 1-11 victory over Kerins O'Rahilly's in their county SFC first round clash at Austin Stack Park yesterday evening.

The outright favourites were without star men David Clifford, who was an unused substitute, and Darragh Roche, but their absence on the pitch was not felt as Listry's Ruairi Murphy stepped up the plate with 1-5 from play. Former Footballer of the Year James O'Donoghue also fired 1-3 for the winners, while Conor Hayes netted the Kerins O'Rahilly's goal in the 50th minute.

East Kerry had opened up a 1-11 to 0-5 lead by half-time and O'Donoghue grabbed his goal six minutes after the break to push the margin out to fourteen points.

In the curtain-raiser, Eanna O'Connor scored 0-6 as Mid Kerry came from seven points down in the first-half to beat West Kerry 1-14 to 1-10.

The other game on Saturday saw a Martin Stack-inspired Feale Rangers hold off St Brendan's to record a 0-15 to 0-13 win. Stack registered 0-11, including six from play.
