Johnny Doyle never missed a championship match for Allenwood until today.
The Kildare legend has been ever-present in his club's first team since making his debut in 1995, but Doyle was forced to sit out the Blues' 3-14 to 2-14 IFC victory over Caragh in Newbridge due to injury.
Doyle, who also started every single Kildare championship outing between 2000 and 2013, turned 44 earlier this year, but shows few signs of slowing down!
A historic day for the Blues as they take to the pitch for a championship game for the first time since 1995 without the inspirational @johnnydoyle78. Injury rules him out of the starting team
