Cork star Ashling Thompson has had the red card she received against Tipperary a fortnight ago upheld by the Camogie Association’s Transfer Hearing and Disciplinary Committee.
After a hearing Wednesday night, it was confirmed this morning (Saturday) that Thompson’s two-match ban will stand and rule her out for Cork’s All-Ireland Senior Camogie championship semi-final against Waterford next weekend.
Should the Rebel County win that game at Croke Park than their midfielder would also be suspended for the final on August 7th.
Having booked her during the game against Tipp, referee Justin Heffernan issued Thompson a straight red card after his final whistle for abusive language.
