Tipperary will face Limerick in the Munster U20 hurling championship final next Wednesday after both sides came through their respective semi-finals last night.
Tipp made their goals count in a 2-20 to 1-21 victory over Cork at Semple Stadium, where Peter McGarry and John Campion netted the majors that sent the hosts towards a 2-12 to 0-9 lead at the half.
Holders Cork fought back in the second-half as Sean Walsh and Diarmuid Healy registered 0-3 apiece but the Premier lads would open up a five-point gap again thanks to the scores of Kyle Shelly, Peter Creedon and Jack Leamy
Colin Walsh netted a consolation goal towards the end for the Rebels but it still left them two short come the final whistle.
The earlier game at the TUS Gaelic Grounds saw Limerick score a 0-27 to 3-15 win over Waterford.
The sides couldn’t be separated at the end of an airtight first-half, going in on 0-11 each, before the Treaty lads came out firing at the start of the second-half with 0-8 without replay.
Aidan O'Connor, Adam English and Shane O'Brien spearheaded Limerick’s attack during that period and, while Cian Rellis pulled back a goal for the visitors, it was the Shannonsiders that stormed into next week’s decider as they could even afford to ship two more goals.
