Tyrone joint-manager Feargal Logan has indicated that they will appeal the red card shown to Conor McKenna for his involvement in a melee which broke out near the end of yesterday's Ulster SFC preliminary round defeat of Fermanagh.
The dismissal of the former Aussie Rules star by referee Joe McQuillan was the main talking point after the All-Ireland champions overcame the Erne men by seven points in Enniskillen.
As it stands, McKenna - who impressed as a second half substitute in the 2-17 to 2-10 win - will miss the quarter-final against Derry on May 1.
"On this occasion we firmly believe that Conor was looking to the safety of one of his team-mates, and that's simply why he moved towards the matters," Logan is quoted as saying on BBC Sport.
"I'm going to leave it for everybody else to watch the video and work it out for themselves, but at some stage there must be justification on a football field to begin to assist and see to the safety of others."
He added: "We deeply respect the players and officials, we deeply respect Joe McQuillan, who has refereed and has a lot of experience, but it's well nigh impossible to expect humans to spot all that's going on when there are a number of people in together."
