Tyrone will be hurling in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League next year after edging Armagh by 2-21 to 2-19 in the Division 3A final at Owenbeg.
CJ McGourty and Damian Casey struck the goals for the Red Hands in the first-half and the same two players landed late points to cement the victory for their county.
Dean Gaffney’s goal on the eve of half-time had given Armagh a lifeline as the sides went in with Tyrone leading 2-12 to 1-8.
The Orchard men took the battle to their neighbours after the turnaround and Nathan Curry’s goal brought them within four.
Points from Shea Harvey, Curry and Stephen Renaghan made it a two-point game but the Red Hands finished out the stronger side to secure the silverware and promotion along with it.
