Former Laois football manager Mick Lillis has linked up with Offaly club Shamrocks for the coming season.
A Laois and Carlow SFC winning manager with Portlaoise and Palatine respectively, Lillis will assist former Carlow captain Brian Kelly, who has been appointed manager of the Rahan-parish club. The two previously worked together at Palatine when they won back-to-back Conlon Cups in 2015 and ’16.
Beaten by Rhode in last year’s Offaly SFC quarter-final, Shamrocks’ star players include Offaly All-Ireland U20 winners Jack Bryant, Kieran Dolan and Sean O’Toole, while former county player Nigel Dunne is still a threat up front.
Meanwhile, Birr and Offaly legend Daithi Regan will guide the Shamrocks intermediate hurlers' fortunes in 2022 after taking over from local man Jimmy Conway.
