Carlow recorded their first win of the Allianz Football League Division 4 campaign by seeing off Waterford on a 2-12 to 2-8 score-line at Netwatch Cullen Park tonight.

Darragh Foley was in fine form for the winners, contributing 0-7 over the 70 minutes, while goals from Jordan Morrisey and Conor Crowley were essential in the end as Waterford never threw in the towel.

Crowley’s strike saw the home side lead by 2-5 to 0-3 early in the second-half and they seemed to be cruising until Dylan Guiry hit their net in the 53rd minute.

The same player would hammer in a penalty in injury-time to keep the heat on the Barrowsiders who held out for the four-point win in the end.
