Four Sigerson Cup quarter-finals down for decision this week

February 01, 2022

DCU hosts a Sigerson-Fitzgibbon Cup double-header on Wednesday evening.

The race for 2022 Sigerson Cup glory will be whittled down to four teams this week.

There are two quarter-finals taking place later today - with two more down for decision tomorrow evening.

Proceedings will get underway at 2.30pm this afternoon when MTU Kerry host Maynooth University at their Tralee Campus.

NUI Galway will also be determined to make home advantage count as they welcome Letterkenny IT to Dangan, with a 6.30pm throw-in time.

The first Sigerson clash on Wednesday sees hosts and holders DCU play Ulster University, in what is arguably the stand-out tie of the last-eight stage (throw-in 5pm).

Later tomorrow evening, at 7pm, in Abbottstown, UL will be out to live up to their billing as title favourites against Queen's.

The semi-finals are fixed for next Monday, with the final taking place at IT Carlow on Wednesday, 16 February.

Meanwhile, the Fitzgibbon Cup group stages will reach its conclusion over the next couple of days.
