Wexford and Kilkenny served up a thrilling 2-25 apiece draw in the Walsh Cup this afternoon.

A late point from Conor McDonald ensured Wexford a share of the spoils in a high-scoring affair, and with that, a place in next weekend's final against Mattie Kenny's Dublin.

Played in front of a sizeable crowd at Chadwicks Wexford Park, the Model County opened up a 1-16 to 0-12 half-time cushion on Brian Cody's men, with the help of goalkeeper Mark Fanning's goal via the penalty spot after Rory Higgins was hauled down and 0-5 from play from impressive newcomer Oisin Foley.

Cian Byrne extended the hosts' advantage on the restart, however, Kilkenny dragged themselves back into contention when Chris Bolger netted on 43 minutes.

Darragh Egan's side assumed complete control after that with points from Foley, Mikey Dwyer and substitute Cathal Dunbar before the latter buried their second goal in the 54th minute to hand them a seemingly-commanding eight-point lead, 2-20 to 1-15.

But, in that typical never-say-die fashion, inevitably the Cats came roaring back, with Padraig Walsh's goal bringing Cody's charges level and points by Cian Kenny and substitute Colm Prenderville firing them to the front on three occasions but McDonald had the final say.

In today's other third round clash, Galway edged out Antrim by 1-23 to 1-17 at the Louth GAA Centre of Excellence in Darver.

Cathal Mannion registered 0-6 (five placed balls) for the winners, who welcomed the return of five-time All-Star full-back Daithi Burke to the fold, while John Fleming chipped in with 1-3.

Leading by 0-13 to 0-10 at half-time, Fleming's goal towards the end of the third quarter had Henry Shefflin's side five points clear but Micheal Bradley replied in kind for the Saffrons moments later.

But Galway emptied their bench and got on top, outscoring their opponents by 0-9 to 0-5 from there to the final whistle.
