Knockmore will defend their title in the Mayo SFC final after a brace of second-half goals from the Ruttledge brothers, Keith and Pearse, proved crucial as they defeated Garrymore 2-11 to 0-11 at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan this evening.

The reigning champions had to do it the hard way as they came from four points down at half-time, 0-8 to 0-4, to secure the win. In fact, they were outscored by 0-1 to 0-6 for the last 25 minutes of the half as Garrymore came on strong with Cathal Slattery (3) and Trevor Nally both on target.

However, Ray Dempsey's side turned things around significantly on the restart and gained control through quickfire goals by the Ruttledge brothers in the 44th and 46th minutes.

In the relegation final, Balla secured their senior status with a 1-12 to 0-9 win over Kiltane in Knockmore.
