Lavey's Derry SFC quarter-final win over Ballinderry yesterday was halted for six minutes in the second-half after a mass brawl broke out between both sets of players.
Two players were sent off after fighting erupted in the 45th minute at Owenbeg, where Lavey held on for a 2-8 to 1-7 victory over the Shamrocks to book their place in the last four.
Lavey goalkeeper Ciaron O'Boyle and Ballinderry defender Gareth McKinless were both shown red cards by referee Gregory McWilliams, as tempers spilled out over the sidelines.
The eventual winners led by 2-6 to 1-5 at that stage after goals from Derry's 2020 All-Ireland MFC winning captain Matthew Downey and Declan Hughes helped them turnaround an early 1-1 to 0-2 deficit.
In the second part of a double-header at the Centre of Excellence, reigning champions Slaughtneil dug deep to see off Eoghan Rua, Coleraine on a 1-11 to 2-6 scoreline.
