The funeral takes place this morning of Cloyne GAA president Philip Cahill who passed away just minutes after the club's Cork SHC game against Killeagh last Saturday.

Affectionately known as 'Bunty', the 88-year-old club stalwart took ill while walking off the pitch in Castlemartyr, and died a short time later. A close friend of the late, great Christy Ring, he won Cork IFC and IHC titles with Cloyne in 1966 and '70 respectively.

'Bunty' is survived by his wife Kitty, children Annemarie (Motherway), Philip, Kaye (Maher) and Maurice, sons-in-law Sean and Liam, daughters-in-law Aoife and Ruth, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
