Player of the Match Aoife Donohue says her Galway team answered their critics by successfully reclaiming the All-Ireland camogie senior championship title.

The Tribeswomen edged out Cork in today's O'Duffy Cup final, with Siobhan McGrath's goal proving the ultimate difference in a 1-15 to 1-12 victory at Croke Park, while Donohue was a vital component behind the success with her phenomenal workrate.

Speaking to RTÉ afterwards, the Mullagh star said: "This team has got a lot of criticism for not performing on the big day, but by God did we show up today.

"I'm so happy for this group of players.

"It was a battle, it could have went either way. We're absolutely out on our feet, we expected nothing less from Cork. I'm delighted for the management and this group of players, especially after last year."
