Wexford GAA is in mouring after All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Pat Nolan passed away on Saturday
Former Wexford hurling goalkeeper and three-time All-Ireland winner Pat Nolan has passed away.
One of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation, Pat lined-out with the Slaneysiders from 1956 to 1974.
He would be part of the squad which captured the Liam MaCarthy Cup during his first season in 1956 before standing between the posts in the Model County’s All-Ireland SHC triumphs of 1960 and 1968.
The Oylegate-Glenbrien clubman also won six Leinster titles and three National League crowns, as well as four Railway Cup medals with Leinster during a glittering playing career.
Widely regarded as Wexford’s greatest hurling goalkeeper, Pat won senior, intermediate and junior hurling championship medals with Oylegate-Glenbrien between 1955 and 1963.
A gael through and through, Pat passed away on Saturday at the age of 84.
