Former Armagh captain Caoimhe Morgan reckons Meath’s momentum could see them pull off “the upset of the year” this Sunday when they face Cork in Sunday’s All-Ireland Ladies SFC semi-final against Cork.

Eamonn Murray’s side were impressive in their quarter-final victory over Armagh last time out and will be bidding for a first All-Ireland senior final berth this weekend.

Speaking RTÉ's Morning Ireland programme, Morgan says she’s been intrigued by the Royals’ progress since their promotion from the intermediate ranks last year.

“I'm really, really excited about this one. I think it could be the shock of the championship," she said.

"Cork survived a scare against Waterford to seal them a semi-final spot in the group stages. Meath though did put Cork to the pin of their collar. They did win by a narrow margin and I'm sure they've learned an awful lot from the game.

"But I like to call it the 'Meath Machine'. We'll see an Eamonn Murray side that are so, so well-drilled, a process they've been working on since 2017 with fantastic quality players all across the pitch.

"They schooled Armagh in the quarter-final and if Cork don't combat Meath's game-plan, it could be the upset of the year so far I feel. They came up from intermediate last year and are showing fantastic ability in the senior championship and I really feel they could go all the way."
