Two Cavan football stars tied the knot today, with Gearoid McKiernan meeting his match, as his long-time girlfriend, ladies football star Donna English, joined the Ulster SFC winner at the altar.

Cavan GAA sent their congratulations to the pair, who have been key players for the Breffni County for over a decade, captaining their respective teams.

McKiernan was a vital driving force behind Cavan's Ulster SFC winning campaign last season, while English won an All-Ireland intermediate title in 2013.

After the men's stunning provincial success last November, English tweeted: "Someone’s uninvited to the wedding, we have to include the Anglo Celt cup in the 25"
