Munster champions Tipperary are set to be without key defender Robbie Kiely for the rest of the season.

Tipp boss David Power confirmed that the former All-Star nominee suffered a grade three C hamstring tear recently and has ruled him out of his team’s 2021 campaign.

"Robbie is out for the season, it looks like four to six months," Power told Tipp FM.

"He has a grade three C hamstring tear and he's got tendon damage done, that's him gone so that's really disappointing."

After falling to defeat against Limerick in Round 1, Tipp resume their Allianz Football League campaign against Wicklow this Saturday at Semple Stadium (throw-in 4.30pm).
