Former Sligo player Gerry McGowan has been appointed as coach to the Clare senior football team under Colm Collins for 2021.
Inter-county football's current longest-serving manager, Collins confirmed the news to the Clare Echo, as he prepares for what will be his eight consecutive season in charge of the Banner County.
McGowan, who fills the role vacated by Dublin's Brian Carson, jointly managed his native Tourlestrane to an historic five-in-a-row of Sligo SFC titles last September, alongside fellow stalwart Eamonn O'Hara.
All-Ireland winning Kerry goalkeeper Declan O'Keeffe will remain part of Collins' backroom team, as will selectors Enda Coughlan and Declan Downes, and strength and conditioning coach Rob Mulcahy.
