The death has taken place of former Cork dual player and NFL winning captain Christy Ryan.
The St Finbarrs clubman passed away at the age of 63.
Ryan captained Cork to a National Football League final win over Kerry in 1980 and won Munster football titles in 1983 and ‘87.
In 1987 Ryan played at full forward in the All-Ireland final loss to Meath having made his name as a centre back with the Rebels.
He also lined out for the county hurlers and was a serial county title winner with St Finbarrs, also winning both football and hurling All-Ireland club titles.
