Former Kerry underage star Cathal Ferriter has completed a club transfer to Dundalk Young Irelands.

The 2018 Leinster junior football champions have pulled off a major coup by attracting the services of the tricky forward, who will be a massive boost to the Louth club in their bid to return to the senior ranks.

Ferriter, who joins the Young Irelands from Annascaul, won an All-Ireland MFC title with Kerry in 2017 and progressed to the Kingdom U20 squad two years later.

He helped his native Annascaul to the 2020 county JFC final but the Blues will now be unable to rely on his talents in the delayed decider after the move was approved this week.

Ferriter had scored 1-1 in the semi-final win over Tarbet and also lined out for divisional side West Kerry last year.

It remains to be seen if the youngster now links up with the Louth senior footballers under new manager Mickey Harte.
