Dublin forward Paul Mannion has walked away from the All-Ireland champions’ panel for 2021, according to multiple reports this morning.

The six-time All-Ireland winner’s departure comes after team mates Michael Darragh MacAuley and Paddy Andrews recently called time on their inter-county careers.

Still only 27, Mannion was restricted to a substitute’s role during last year’s championship, coming off the bench against Mayo as the Dubs recorded their sixth successive Sam Maguire Cup triumph.

RTE Sport reports that sources close to the team have confirmed that Mannion, who made his inter-county debut in 2013, will not be involved in Dessie Farrell’s squad whenever the 2021 season gets underway.

Mannion previously left the capital men’s squad in 2015 to study in China before being welcomed back into Jim Gavin’s set-up.
