A happy Mick Foley as he sets of on his 125km journey around Kells

Former Meath hurler Mick Foley has raised over €7,500 for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

The Gaeil Colmcille dual player cycled 125km locally to raise much needed funds for a very worthy cause in a dog costume.

The initial plan was to do a 125km solo cycle from Kells to Temple St and back while dressed in a dog mascot costume on New Years Day but Covid restriction meant that Mick had to keep his journey local.

Mick spoke to hoganstand.com this morning

" Thanks a million to all who've donated to my Temple St fundraiser. The support from around Kells, Meath and much further afield has been absolutely amazing. I completed the 125km cycle in 5 and a half hours, all within 5km of home due to the Level 5 restrictions.

Just over €7,500 has been raised and Temple St are truly greatful to everyone for their support. "
