Former Mayo and Kerry coach Donie Buckley has joined Monaghan’s backroom team for the 2021 season.

The highly-rated coach is set to link up with Farney boss Seamus McEnaney as they get set for their National League campaign which will see them battle it out with Donegal, Armagh and Tyrone.

Buckley was involved with Kerry last year as the Kingdom reached the All-Ireland SFC final and lost out to Dublin in a replay.

Previous to that he has a six-year spell with Mayo, working under three different managers, during which time the Westerners reached three All-Ireland deciders.

McEnaney has also appointed former Jonny Davis, former head of athletic performance with Ulster rugby, as the team’s new strength and conditioning coach.
