"A black card didn't even enter my head"

Dublin defender Jonny Cooper says a black card didn’t even enter his head after his foul on Mayo’s Aidan O’Shea in last Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC final.

The Na Fianna clubman appeared to pull down O’Shea on the edge of the Dublin square in the 45th minute and while there were some that felt the challenge was in black card territory, referee David Coldrick clearly didn’t.

Speaking on Off The Ball, the now seven-time All-Ireland winner said a black card didn’t even cross his mind at the time.

"A black card didn’t even enter my head," Cooper stated. 

"People were slagging me after but in the game, I didn’t feel that at all. 

“I haven’t looked back on it so maybe it looked closer but it didn’t feel like that in the game."
