Dean Rock entered the record books last night by becoming Dublin's all-time leading scorer.

The Ballymun Kickhams sharpshooter overtook Jimmy Keaveney's long-standing record with a haul of 1-8 in the five-in-a-row All-Ireland champions' Allianz League win over Meath at Parnell Park. Rock's early goal, which followed a mis-placed kickout, brought his tally to 17-442 (493), one point more than Keaveney's 30-402 (492). He achieved the feat in just 95 games compared to 104 for St Vincent's legend Keaveney.

In what was Dublin's first Allianz League game at the Donnycarney venue in a decade, Stephen Cluxton also created history by becoming the county's most capped player, eclipsing the record set by another goalkeeper Johnny McDonnell, who played against Tipperary on Bloody Sunday 100 years ago this month.

Last night's 1-20 to 0-19 win saw the Dubs move within a point of Kerry at the top of Division 1 ahead of a trip to Salthill for the final round against Galway next weekend. There are no league finals this year.
