Carrick made it four consecutive Leitrim senior hurling championship titles this evening after overcoming Clainin Iomain by 2-15 to 0-18 at Pairc Sean MacDiarmada.
In what was a thrilling final, extra time was needed to separate the sides as Carrick landed a late goal to force the extra periods after Gavin O’Grady looked to have done enough for the Clainin Iomain.
Carrick led by the odd point in 11 at the halfway stage before their opponents went on a run with O’Grady to the fore that had them three up heading into injury-time.
However, the holders scrambled home a late goal and battle through extra time to grab another in the second-half and take home the title.
