Setanta made three Donegal senior hurling championship titles in four years this evening after seeing off St Eunan’s in Letterkenny.
It finished 2-19 to 2-13 at O’Donnell Park, where the winners cruised for long stages as two goals from Kevin Kealy in the closing 10 minutes helped to take some tarnish off the score-line for St Eunan’s.
Setanta hit the net within two minutes of this decider through Davin Flynn and never looked back, running up a 1-12 to 0-5 lead by the break.
Conor O’Grady and Ryan Hiferty pulled back points for the trailers, but there was no stopping the victors on this occasion as they added another 1-7 to their tally to ensure that even Kealy’s late brace wouldn’t deny them their title.
