The bragging rights went to Castleknock in today's big Dublin SFC opening round derby against St Oliver Plunkett's/Eoghan Ruadh as Ballyboden St Enda's, Kilmacud Crokes and Ballymun Kickhams found their goalscoring touch to record runaway victories.

Conor Chawke and Gerard McDermott-Roe (penalty) netted at crucial stages to hand Castleknock a 2-15 to 1-11 victory over their near neighbours at Somerton. Bernard Brogan's 50th minute goal brought Plunkett's back within three points having trailed by nine at one stage but Ciaran Kilkenny's side stood firm on home turf.

Ballyboden also enjoyed home comforts as they scored an emphatic 4-20 to 2-8 win against Clontarf at Pairc Ui Mhurchu. Mayo All-Star defender Chris Barrett and former Footballer of the Year Jack McCaffrey were powerless to prevent their team from slipping to an 18-point defeat.

Crokes almost matched 'Boden's total in their 6-13 to 0-10 hammering of Raheny. A dominant first half display by the 2018 winners laid the foundations for victory at Silverpark.

Skerries Harps were no match at all for Ballymun as they finished on the end of a heavy 3-18 to 0-12 defeat at Pairc Ciceam. Dean Rock was among the goals for Brendan Hackett's men.

Thomas Davis, who contested their first county SFC final since 1991 last November, proved too strong for Round Towers of Lusk, 2-14 to 0-11.

St Vincent's stuggled to shake off the challenge of Whitehall Colmcille and it took a late penalty from Mossy Quinn to seal a 2-15 to 1-13 success.

A Niall Coakley goal in the early stages of the second half ultimately gave St Jude's a 1-10 to 0-8 win against Na Fianna at Parnell Park.

Finally, Lucan Sarsfields completed a senior football and hurling first round double at the expense of Ballinteer St John's in 12th Lock.
