Reigning champions Nemo Rangers and previous winners St Finbarr's both recorded opening round victories in the Cork SFC this evening.

Luke Connolly grabbed a brace of goals either side of the break and Conor 'Buster' O'Donovan scored another to provide Nemo with a platform for a 3-8 to 1-9 victory over Valley Rovers in their Group C clash at Cloughduv.

At Pairc Ui Rinn, in Group A, an early Eoin McGreevey goal edged St Finbarr's ahead at the interval against Ballincollig, and with Cork captain Ian Maguire to the fore, they were 1-13 to 0-10 clear by the final whistle.
