Last night RTÉ aired a new documentary called 'Becoming Irish' which featured Leitrim hurler Zak Moradi.

The documentary follows Iraqi-born Zak and two other hopefuls in their quest to become Irish citizens. Zak moved to Carrick-on-Shannon with his family as an 11-year-old having fled war-torn Iraq in 2002 and took up hurling just months after his arrival.

A member of the Thomas Davis GAA club in Tallaght, Zac is the last of his 11 siblings to get citizenship despite his hurling exploits with Leitrim whom he helped secure their first-ever national title at Croke Park last June when won the Lory Meagher Cup.
