Roscommon manager Anthony Cunningham has revealed that the break has come at the perfect time for some of their injured players.

Last weekend, the Rossies picked up their first win of the Allianz NFL campaign when they defeated Clare, but they did lose Donie Smith to injury.

However, Cunningham told the Roscommon Herald that the break will help Smith and Conor Cox who could be available for the next round against Kildare.

“Donie came off there with a head injury – you have to come off with an injury like that, but he’ll be fine for two weeks, but he’ll need rest for a few days,” said Cunningham.

“Conor will be re-assessed next weekend by the medics in Dublin, he has a plaster on his hand but we hope that he’ll get the green light for next week.

“Andy Glennon is probably a couple of weeks off as well. Unfortunately, Shane Killoran shipped a big injury last weekend, it’s sad for a man like that. He’ll be on recovery until later in the year, when maybe Ronan (Daly) will be back.”
