Fitzgibbon Cup: Mary I secure the local bragging rights

January 29, 2020

Jamie Wall's Mary Immaculate College were beaten finalists last year.

Mary Immaculate College advanced to the last four of this year’s Fitzgibbon Cup thanks to an extra-time quarter-final victory over UL this afternoon.

Jamie Wall’s charges edged out their Gary Kirby managed Limerick rivals on a scoreline of 2-21 to 1-21 on home turf.

Normal time failed to produce a winner as the sides finished level – Mary I 2-15, UL 1-18.

Shane Golden netted UL’s goal in the 10th minute but Gary Cooney and Andrew Ormond replied with green flags for the winners.
