Following on from picking up early season silverware, Wexford hurlers have received another boost with the news that Diarmuid O’Keeffe should return to training next week.

The St Anne’s clubman went travelling following the county final loss to St Martin’s and it was expected that he would be gone for a number of months.

However, O’Keeffe is set to arrive back on these shores next Tuesday and is expected to return to training later in the week.

Wexford get their league campaign underway with an away clash against Laois on Saturday night and they go into the game as strong favourites to claim the two points on offer.

Missing out on that game are joint captains Matthew O’Hanlon and Lee Chin who are both injured, but Davy Fitzgerald’s squad should still prove too strong for the O’Moore County.
