Tyrone's All-Star full forward Cathal McShane has dismissed speculation linking with a move to the AFL.

The Brisbane Lions were believed to be interested in signing McShane, who attended Aussie Rules trials as a teenager, but the Owen Roe's clubman has assured the Irish News that he is going nowhere.

Revelling in his new role on the edge of the square, McShane was the standout performer in Tyrone's run to this year's All-Ireland SFC semi-final and news of his decision to stay at home will come as a relief to manager Mickey Harte who will be without the services of captain Mattie Donnelly for the upcoming Allianz League campaign after he recently underwent surgery on a career-threatening hamstring injury.
