Charlie Redmond doesn't expect Jim Gavin to reveal his full hand until the latter stages of this year's championship.
The Dublin manager used 37 players during the Allianz League and fellow 1995 All-Ireland winner Redmond is predicting that he will keep his strongest team under wraps until the well into the summer.
“What Gavin has done this year, which is notable, he’s never played all the lads at the same time," the former Dublin freetaker told the Irish Sun.
“We’ve seen James McCarthy play, we’ve seen Brian Fenton play, we’ve seen Jack McCaffrey play, we’ve seen Con O’Callaghan, Ciarán Kilkenny — but never all at the same time. He’s kept changing. Whether he’s holding them in reserve, maybe there’s some injuries we don’t know about . . .
“We might only see them all together maybe twice this year — a big game in the Super 8s and then in the All-Ireland final, possibly also in the All-Ireland semi-final.”
