Clare look set to be without ace inside forward John Conlon for the rest of their Allianz Hurling League campaign.
The Clonlara clubman picked up an ankle injury in last Sunday’s dramatic victory over Wexford in Ennis and the Irish Independent reports this evening that he now faces at least four weeks on the sidelines.
Conlon was one of the stars of last year’s championship and has struck 2-7 to date for the Banner men in the league, but this set-back means he will not feature for his county again this Spring even if they were to advance to the league final in March 24th.
Clare need a win in this Sunday’s Munster derby against Limerick to ensure their passage through to next month’s Division 1 quarter-finals.
