Paddy Tally was impressed by goalkeeper Rory Burns' heroic efforts during Down’s league win over Longford.

The Mourne County’s new custodian produced a top-draw display to keep a clean sheet as Down prevailed at Pearse Park on Sunday.

“Rory did very well against Longford, who have been setting the pace at the top of the table, and he is providing inspiration to our defence and indeed our whole team,” his manager told The Belfast Telegraph.

“With games being decided by fine margins for the most part it's important that we don't concede scores too easily.”
