Former Munster rugby stars Doug Howlett and Jonny Holland have joined the Cork hurling management set-up.

The pair were in the dugout at Pairc Ui Rinn for last Saturday's Allianz League win over Clare and their appointments to John Meyler's backroom team was confirmed last night.

Ex-New Zealand winger Howlett, who is Munster Rugby's Head of Commercial & Marketing, has been appointed 'high performance lead', while Holland takes up the role of nutritionist.

Cork GAA said Howlett "brings with him a wealth of expertise and experience of playing sport at an elite level."
