Westmeath GAA has expressed its sympathy to former Lake County hurler Enda Loughlin and his family following the tragic death of his baby Annabelle.

Enda captained the Clonkill team in last Monday’s Westmeath IHC final replay defeat to Crookedwood and tomorrow’s Leinster Club SHC fixture between Clonkill and Ballyboden St Enda’s has been cancelled as a mark of respect.

“The Westmeath GAA community stand in solidarity with the Loughlin family, Clonkill following the tragic death of baby Annabelle,” a statement posted on the Westmeath GAA Facebook page reads.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very difficult time and we offer our deepest condolences to Enda, Eileen, Senan and TJ, and the entire Loughlin family, who are steeped in both Clonkill HC and Westmeath GAA.

“As a mark of respect, tomorrow’s Leinster Club SHC game between Clonkill and Ballyboden St Enda's has been postponed. Details of the rearranged fixture will be released as soon as it is confirmed.

“Ar dheis de go raibh a anam dilis.”
